Where do philosophies, visions and prophecies collide?

There’s an interesting thread through my reading this last year, namely the interplay of the virtual with the actual. Now, what I mean by these terms is something which could find itself in a future essay, and I wonder whether such broad distinctions actually will have an impact on my practice going forward. I went out to take some images the other day and everything felt disappointingly similar - not because I don’t see the world differently (no, my understanding of it has changed altogether), but perhaps because what i have learned has simply come to explain what I was already observing. Is this what Deleuze meant by “The purpose of philosophy is to disappoint”?
